Beloved readers, before I get to the nitty-gritty of my personal skin regimen, I want to post a little, golden disclaimer:
This is what I have found works for Little Golden Lamb.
It is holistic; it is a matter of the inside and the outside.
It is constantly changing to suit my skin’s various needs.
Copying it or any part of it, will NOT guarantee my results.
Please note, beloved readers:
I have not always had decent skin. I had cystic acne from the age of ten until the age of 22 (I’m currently 24). God and Accutane gave me the chance to have the skin I have now. I feel blessed to have skin that actually responds to my treatment of it and I work hard to keep it clear and even so I don’t feel the need to wear foundation.
Having typed all of that, it may help inspire tweaks or changes to your regimen that work for YOU.
The first thing you will note is that my skincare regimen takes into account the different types of skin on my face. It’s broken into three categories: lips, eyes, face.
The other thing worth noting is (again) it changes. It changes according to issues my skin faces that I have become aware of through CAREFUL OBSERVATION OVER TIME, according to hormonal, seasonal, and environmental changes.
You’ll also notice I finish this post with a list of Dos and Don’t I have learned that make or break my skin’s clarity. I have incorporated them into my life and don’t have to “think” about doing them or check off a list at this point. You’ll need to make such a “list” for your unique skin and be consistent until it is second nature.
Most importantly, please know that I have found a way to take care of my skin that required some changes in my schedule but, ultimately fits my lifestyle. Fixing your skin may require changing habits you never thought were related to it!
Perhaps you need to go to bed at 10 PM instead of 2 AM? That means deciphering what is keeping you up late.
Work from your job?
Maybe you need to rethink your ten-year career plan. Do you have such a plan?
Relationship drama?
Maybe you should re evaluate who you allow to effect you so severely…or remove them from your social circle.
Lack of discipline? Mismanaged priorities? The list goes on.
My point is, if I asked you to list what may be sabotaging your skin, I doubt highly your FIRST responses would include:
-My job
-My finances
-My Frenemy
-My lack of organization
Most people would say:
-Lack of sleep
-My diet
-My skin care products
These are all good responses, but not good enough.
Ask yourself:
WHY am I lacking sleep?
WHAT is wrong with my diet?
WHY don’t I address it?
WHAT new skills or information do I need to take charge of this?
WHAT is in my skin care products?
WHAT is their real purpose and quality? WHY did I start using them?
The idea here, beloved readers, is to focus heavily on the SOURCES that combined manifest in less-than-camera-ready skin.
You’ll be surprised by how much a balanced, holistic, life-style-based approach to fixing the true sources of your skin care woes can equal great skin and a greater you, all the way around!
Now, then, beloved readers, onto my personal EXTERNAL regimen:

No canola or other vegetable oils used in cooking (Fruit Oils Only)

Change your pillow cases regularly, flip them each night
Change linen often (weekly is a good start)
Drink quality white, red or green tea daily
Drink water daily
Abstain from touching your face
Wear the minimum foundation or coverage you feel comfortable with
Keep on top of changing trends in skin care and products
Become familiar with the way skin works
Become familiar with the active ingredients that actually change how skin goes about its various processes
Keep a skin care journal
Change your wash cloths daily if possible or be sure to rinse in HOT water and let dry completely before each use
Don’t use your body/hair towel on your face
Throw out old make-up
WASH YOUR MAKE-UP BRUSHES FREQUENTLY!
Don’t:
1. Expect results over night
2. Think cruel things about yourself
3. Compare your skin to others, compare it to what it was when it was better or when it was worse (to remind yourself you ARE making progress)
4. Give Up
…
EVER!

Thanks this is good stuff, I guess most of us know it within but you need stuff like this to get stuck and real. I’m going through a filtering stage in my life, after years of self neglect and not appreciating what god blessed me with, leading to terrible skin, hair, lifestyle and relationships . Pages like this inspire me to find and be the best I can be.
