How to Be Swell (Self-Study): Coping Like Mad

“I was asked to act when I couldn’t act. I was asked to sing ‘Funny Face’ when I couldn’t sing, and dance with Fred Astaire when I couldn’t dance – and do all kinds of things I wasn’t prepared for. Then I tried like mad to cope with it.”

-Audrey Hepburn

Beloved readers, for 2011, I decided it would be a year of change, the final banishment of old demons, and a year of moving forward in my career, relationship, health, spiritual, emotional, and financial goals.

As I’m mid-way through the year, it’s time for a pause to look back, look around, and look forward.

To, in a sense, do a sort of “Life 180″  and in doing so, be absolutely sure that I like the way that I am going.

Praise God, I absolutely do…I truly, truly do.

This is the first time in my life (all 24 years of it) that I’ve been able to say that!

Yes.

This is the first time I truly, consciously acknowledged that all of the many, many notes that make up the symphony of my life are thundering along the divinely written score that rules it on key.

One of the major reasons “why” is due to the last line of the above quote, which brought the above thoughts to my mind:

“. . .cope like mad.”

Through prayer, perseverance, and the love of my family and friends, I’ve not only coped but, thrived.

I’ve no idea what the rest of 2011 will yield, but for the first, absolutely first time –I’m facing it the way I’ve always wanted to: with eyes, heart, and arms wide open (and sword ready).

Are you coping “like mad” beloved readers?

How?

Why?

What will that yeild?

Do you like those answers?

If not, what will you do to change them?
