Beloved readers,

Having completed an entire semester’s worth of Media Ethics during the last three (Yes, only three) weeks–when the description said “intensive” it meant it–I high-tailed myself down to Texas. (I rested for about 16 hours, first.)

Why?

It is Step 2 of my “Overhaul My Little, Golden Life” plan I began in 2011, and really put into motion in 2012.

I have another two days here in the land of men-that-call-me-darlin’, high-stepping cheer leaders, and beef, and I am making the most of it, thanks to (the blessing) of a dear friend of the family.

Reviews and more non-review content will continue in a few days.

What ar e you doing with your summer, beloved readers? I would love to know!

Shea Moisture Coconut & Hibiscus Shea butter Soap w/ Songyi Mushroom Brightening and Toning

Beloved readers, I have so many Shea Moisture reviews to share with you. I have fallen head over little, golden heels for this brand’s products. For those of you who are not fans of bar soap, this may change your mind. I go back an forth between body wash and bar soap depending on my mood; however, I am extremely picky about the bar soaps and body washes I use. As it stands, I have more “approved” body washes than bar soaps on my list of cleansers that may touch my little, golden bod’. This is one of those bar

Joico K-PAK Revitaluxe Bio-Advanced Restorative Treatment

Beloved readers, it has been quite a while since I last typed a Joico review. It is not because I dislike the brand. I have been “outside of the salon” in my product choices for quite a while. For the tl;dr group: I like it over all, will not repurchase, loved the musky scent, feel it is another good product from Joico, can get the same results at a lower price point. For those interested in why I typed the above, read on. (And know that I will love you forever and a fortnight! Keep reading alive!) I mentioned first

Q & A: Aprilnic/Low Build-up Conditioner

Hello beloved readers, Aprilnic asked: “Hello Lamb! I remember asking a question about texturizers one or two years ago, but now I’m completely natural and I’m back with a follow up question! My hair is dense, fine and full of pin sized spiral coils. I find that I have build up issues with my cowash conditioner and normal conditioner (currently using Carols Daughter cowash cleansing and Tui moisturizing conditioner). Could you point me in the direction of a few products that don’t cause high buildup? In my case I’m looking for a clean scalp, not necessarily slip. Thanks!” Thank YOU m’dear for

Q&A: Dorothy/Aveeno and Coily Hair

Beloved readers, Dorothy asked: I have a tighter 4a texture (think pen spring size coils with 75 percent shrinkage when wet). Do you believe the Aveeno can work comparably well as far as slip for me? Hello Dorothy! (I like your name, so I am shamelessly typing it as often as I can in this post.) I have used this product (see what we are gabbing about here), relaxed and natural. I am a very tight 3c/loose-ish 4a mix and this did give me slip. My fingers and wide-toothed comb did not –fly– through my hair, mind you, dear Dorothy, but it
